Some cool apps
Among the apps I use in everyday life, there have been some apps and plugins that I’ve really liked and recommend.
Anki

The single biggest change that Anki brings about is that it means memory is no longer a haphazard event, to be left to chance. Rather, it guarantees I will remember something, with minimal effort.
— Michael A. Nielsen, “Augmenting Long-term Memory”
One of my absolute favorite apps of all time by far. Anki is a flashcard program that uses spaced repetition to make remembering things so, much, easier.
To say that it changed my life is an understatement. It has helped me so much throughout my journey learning Japanese, reviewing for exams in Uni, or even just remembering any kind of information I don’t want to forget.
It is also highly customizable, open source, has cloud sync, and is free for all platforms except for iOS.
Daylio Journal - Mood Tracker

I track my habits and have always wanted to start journaling, and I’ve found Daylio to be a perfect fit for my needs.
It provides journaling, mood + habit tracking, and setting goals in a single app without being too over the top. Logging at the end of the day is also very quick and easy.
It also allows for a one-time lifetime purchase instead of a subscription model which is huge.
AdGuard

For desktop, there are already a lot of existing ad blockers but ads on mobile still remain problematic and annoying.
AdGuard fixes all of that while also removing trackers, cookies notices, and other annoying popups making browsing on mobile a breeze.
I can’t imagine browsing the web on mobile without it anymore.
obsidian-livesync

I use Obsidian.md for note-taking because of it being lightweight and files being in Markdown.
However, it is offline by default making it hard to access my notes from mobile.
Obsidian provides its own sync service but it is too expensive for me so I opted to use the Obsidian Livesync plugin instead.
The setup looked intimidating at first but it was surprisingly straightforward and just works once set up.
noMeiryoUI

noMeiryoUI is a simple program for changing the system font on Windows.
